Lake Mteri, a perfect destination for trophy fishermen

A hectic, busy environment associated with urban life requires some time off the city to cool down the anxieties and melancholic feelings caused by the highs and lows; in atranquil environment. The breathtakingly beauteous Lake Mteri tacked in the sugarcane plantations of the Hippo Valley Estates is the place to be.

Lake Mteri is accessible either by air through the Buffalo Range Airport or entirely by road from either Beitbridge border post or Masvingo town. The lake is located approximately 300km from Beitbridge border post and about 197km from Masvingo town. From Masvingo, guests can get to Lake Muteri via Zaka, Jerera or via Ngundu, to finish the journey along the Ngundu-Tanganda highway. Guests traveling via Ngundu road will turn into the Zimbabwe Sugar Association Experimental Station road then straight to Lake Mteri,

The 975 hectare dam is rich in aquatic lives, both plants and animals. The main activity is trophy fishing for bream, bass or barbel fish and the dam has a record catch of 6.5kgs.
